About the Author
J. Steven Babbit began studying Hebrew in 1971 while living on Kibbutz Gevulot in Israel. He continued to study the language on his own, during his years as an undergraduate English and linguistics student at Western Washington University. At Talbot Theological Seminary in 1984, he studied Biblical Hebrew. Babbit also studied Modern Hebrew at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
Other books by this author include the Hebrew in Living Color Series: The Book of Ruth. Genesis in Living Color (Vol. 1) is due to be published in early 2011.

Opening the hidden messages that lie inside the Hebrew alphabet.

If you really want to understand the Bible, you should understand three things. First the Bible's author is God, so every word is immovable, cemented in place, unchanging.
The second is that God wrote it to His Children the Jews. To begin to understand it, requires a working knowledge of Hebrew history, customs and tradition.
Three it is crammed full of mysteries. God obviously did not want to reveal everything to everyone. Probably the biggest mystery hides inside the Hebrew alphabet.
Our alphabet consists of symbols used to indicate sounds. Before actually reading we learned how to make the sounds of the alphabet symbols. (At least that is how we learned to read before government messed with our public schools.) The sounds create words that we use to communicate our thoughts to others.
The ancient Hebrew alphabet consists of crude pictures - pictographs.. Unlike our alphabet, these pictures, called OTIOTS serve a dual purpose. The obvious is that they make words just like our own alphabet. The hidden purpose is they tell a completely different story, using the pictures. This second purpose cannot be told by any Bible translation yet devised. Thus it remains God's mystery to all not possessing this knowledge.
Mr. Babbit, a Christian, invested several years deciphering the OTIOTS. He has a unique skill set that made it possible to decipher something that was hidden for centuries. His book is complex and requires an investment of your time. He breaks down the complex into charts that simplify his information. Don't expect color, despite the title. Do expect some very interesting information that is available nowher elsek.

If you are even wondering if you should study Hebrew, YES get this book! While the words CAN be translated into English the depth of each word can not be reflected. LOVE THIS BOOK!
