Excellent, heartfelt story

Several weeks ago I bought a copy of Blessed Chaos. This book had been on my radar since it was published last year. Blessed Chaos chronicles Ashley's story of how she and her husband became foster parents and suddenly had four children.
This is a heartfelt story, and I often wiped tears from my eyes as I read. Especially as I read it through the eyes of one who has faced the long, hard, wait of infertility, my heart ached knowing that adoption is also often a long, hard, wait. Adoption through foster care isn’t easy, and it’s not a quick fix to childlessness. However, my admiration is great for Ashley and her husband Michael – not only did they work hard to transition four children into their home where they lovingly parent them, but Ashley also works hard to encourage other adoptive and foster parents.
Even though their journey hasn’t been easy, Blessed Chaos demonstrates that God is good, and He is faithful. This is a story worth reading: a story of a God who puts the barren woman in her home as the happy mother of children, because He is able!

Just finished this book and found it heartfelt, well written and wonderfully honest. I can draw many similarities between Ashley and her husband's journey and our own. Definitely a good read for anyone going through this process or considering it. The author is great about being honest when it comes to how hard fostering and adopting are but also how it is so worth it. She also speaks of her own feelings throughout the process and how things are not suddenly perfect once the kids are officially adopted. Great read. Blessings to this family.

A must-read for anyone involved in foster care!

Blessed Chaos is so beautifully and honestly written. My husband and I have been fostering for several years and could so easily identify with the situations Ashley writes about. I love how open she is with the struggles she faced and how she and her family worked through them.
This story is greatly encouraging to those currently in the midst of their own foster-adoption chaos and would be a great preparation tool for those considering or just beginning a foster journey.
