About the Author
Julie is a native of Central Kentucky. After receiving her degree in English, she chose a career in higher education finance. Fifteen years later, she decided to allow her inner creative genius loose and began writing. She has been an avid reader her entire life, with a special love for mysteries, so she thought it fitting to make her first novel one of suspense. Growing up as an Army brat, she has lived in several states and foreign countries. To this day, she enjoys traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures. When at home she is likely to be found enjoying a few extreme sports, such as: rock climbing, scuba diving, or whitewater rafting. Her willingness to enter into activities of mortal peril is balanced by her commitment to ensure the quality of life for animals through her service with various dog rescue organizations. She now lives in Middle Tennessee with her three dogs, Ginny, Holly and Luna.

I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION .... OVER 18 READING.....
Charlene Stephens could barely move because her husband, Hank, had broken her two ribs, that's when she found out she was pregnant. She couldn't fight for herself but could for her unborn baby. She got help and left, not to be heard from again.
26 years later
Katie Freeman has been with the FBI for 3 years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has just been transferred to Nashville, Tennessee and assigned to her new partner Michael Powell. Michael gave her four cold cases to review or see if she could figure anything out about them in her spare time. Katie was very sheltered all her life, till she left home at 18 to go to collage for her 3 year, that was 7 years ago. She has not talk to or seen her mother since, and doesn't know about any other family, any where BUT she knows not to talk about her past. First major case is someone killing women after inhumanly tortured them.Michael loves the way Katie's mind works when figuring out what happen,where est to go next. He likes her and she likes him but neither date co-workers so they become friends. He slowly learns more about her past..till finally she tells him a lot but not all.They eventually catch the killer but they have a lot happen while they figure out who is doing it but more importantly why. This is a great story line. I loved it and couldn't wait for more, if fact I started it right after I finished this book. And I hope there will be more stories about Katie and Micheal. In the files he gave he gave her the first day she will find a secret that she never would have dreamed of.

A well-written mystery that will keep you hooked till the very end!

For a debut mystery novel by a new author, this was a great read! With engaging characters and a plot that kept me guessing until the end, I found I couldn't put this book down. Very well written! I look forward to seeing the next Katie Freeman Mystery.

This book really kept me engaged... I found it difficult to stop reading... I finished it in a few hours. While there were a few unanswered question about the main character, I think it was a intentionally done to keep it open for future novels.
