About the Author
Jerry Minchey is the author of several books. He has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, an MBA from USC, and an OPM degree from Harvard Business School. He worked for NASA on the Apollo moon mission and worked for many years as a computer design engineer. He has owned several engineering and marketing businesses. Now semi-retired, he is the founder and editor of two Internet subscription websites: MarketingYourRestaurant.com and SearchEngineU.com. As an engineer and a business major, he looks at problems from both a logical standpoint as well as an economic and financial standpoint. That's the approach he takes when analyzing the pros and cons of moving into a 55+ community. He also draws from his first hand experience of living in 55+ parks. His parents owned and lived in 55+ parks for 15 years, buying and selling homes along the way. With numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends retiring and moving into 55+ parks over the years, he had a world of knowledge and experience to draw on when he set out to research and report on the advantages of moving into a 55+ park. He presently lives full-time in his motorhome and travels between the North Carolina mountains in the summers and the Florida beaches in the winters—plus several side trips throughout the year. This is a very well written book ~ Author provides a lot of useful information

This book was quite a surprise to me. Whereas many similar ones that I've read provided very little useful information, this one did just the opposite. The writing is superb, there are no annoying grammatical errors, and the author explains in easy to understand language, the pros and cons of moving to a 55+ park.
Prior to reading this book, I had no idea that there were so many housing options available in this category. Not only does the author go into detail on each option, but he provides extremely useful links to websites that have their own plethora of valuable information.
This book is a standout in that it provides the reader with everything they need to know on the subject. So many ebooks are nothing more than a few pages of information that is easily found online. This book, on the other hand, is chock full of ideas that will be extremely useful to anyone considering a move to a 55+ park. Kudos to the author for writing such an excellent and detailed resource guide.

This book gave lots of very good info about 55+ parks. I now feel like I have true hope for my retirement years instead of dread. I'm a single lady who hasn't saved as much as I should have due to having to be a single mom. My financial advisor acts like I will be sleeping under a bridge unless I have 2.5 million in the bank when I retire! Knowing how affordable these 55+parks are is life changing! I can survive off social security alone if I have to in one of these parks. I will keep saving for retirement as I'm only 52, but I will no longer be afraid of it. Thanks to the author for giving me the gift of hope.

Excellent resource for anyone considering whether a 55+ park is right for them. Jerry is explains out in detail the pros/cons so you can decide whether it is right for you (or not!). If you are even remotely considering this option, this is an investment that is well worth it. Highly recommended.
