INVALUABLE!

Full color and clear pics of all stamps, all variations listed with each stamp. The size is perfect for taking to shows, love the spiral as opposed to the glued spine pages of the older books. My only issues are minor...1. glossy pages are hard to write on, pen and sharpie smear unless you wait for it to dry and pencil is hard to write and erase if you make an error. the glossy pages also glare so propping up the book a little or adjusting your overhead light may be needed. 2. I would also like to have 10 or so extra blank pages printed at the end of the regular postage pages for listing new stamps until the next years version comes out. 3. Souvenir sheets should have all the stamps listed not just "a-t any single" with one line. I need to write on a post-its all the stamps so I can keep track of getting them all.
All the same there is no better book available for avid to occasional stamp collectors.

Beautiful, easy-to-read, inspiring book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is full of encouragement and inspiration. I will re-read it, and will also buy it as a gift for friends. It would make an especially nice book for people graduating from high school or college, or getting ready to retire, or going through any other major life transition. When I feel unhappy or overwhelmed and can tell that my perspective is "off track", I will read this book to help me get back on track. It will remind me that I always have help, that life is full of blessings even when we don't see them, and that we are constantly learning and growing.

AMAZINGGGG book for any bride-to-be

Confessions of a wedding planner DONE! Finished in one day in my doctors office yes I'm a nerd but to be honest I couldn't put it down! Plus I'm sick so perfect reading day! Holy easy read and things you can totally relate to in a language us Generation Y babies can understand. She's so brutally honest in every line.
This is HANDS DOWN the best self help book( and I call it self help because it totally changed my views on "the big day") I have ever read. Totally brings you down a couple notches when planning your big day. I literally laughed out loud in almost every chapter. I'm not getting married (yet) but you better believe I was already stressing about it lol seeing the stress my engaged friends are going through/ went through freaked me out. Ladies, if you are planning your wedding or not even engaged yet (me), READ THIS BOOK FIRST!
Not only am I going to be using what I've learned from this book (hence my post-it notes), but I am totally hiring BeLav as my wedding planner. She even added scannable barcodes for music, a wedding budget planner, venue checklists and even a budget allocation breakdown pie chart to name a few. Seriously? Thank you for doing the work for me.

No one wants to be a bridezilla even though we all know we can get caught up in the perfect shade of ...(insert bridesmaid colour here)! Danny has written a great outline and insight into what its like to experience a locked in syndrome stroke and the trials and tribulations of what's its like to be totally at the mercy of the public heath system when you can't communicate in the usual ways. The luck of the draw with medical nursing staff and therapists who work three rotating shifts where you get excellent staff at times and some really duds at other times with the vagaries of new graduates and experienced staff who have been there for years and want to do things their ways. If you have ever had experienced the Hospital system, ICU wards and rehabilitation wards you will relate to his experience of these places that Danny relates. Also the vagaries of the standards of care available outside the hospital system when you are living in the community with a disability that requires caregivers who you have to totally rely on and who can let you down. Well done in just getting your story into book form Danny that journey is another threat woven through the book which is a story in itself.

Cleeves ( Murder in My Backyard ) allows her respect for the traditional mystery to fossilize her writing into a formula. The victim is the vicar's wife. The setting is a prototypical English town during a fair. The detective, Inspector Ramsay, is an unmarried and singularly brainy member of the constabulary ably assisted by a loyal sergeant who desperately desires action, not theories. Ramsay is as mundane and conventional as the trappings, as he tries to understand the victim while tracing her last hours of life. Meanwhile a succession of suspects is paraded for the reader's inspection, including the victim's stepson, his insecure girlfriend, a half-witted young man half in love with the victim, a dying widow, a social worker and an alcoholic ne'er-do-well. Unfortunately, none of them grabs our attention or loyalty, even after the half-wit is the victim of the inevitable second murder. The pace slowly picks up after that, and the concluding 20 or so pages are suspenseful and fast-paced, but they seem slim reward for readers who must slog through the first 190 pages of cliched two-dimensionality to get there.

Ann worked as a probation officer, bird observatory cook and auxiliary coastguard before she started writing. A Good Read

A Day in the Death of Dorothea Cassidy by Ann Cleeves continues the Stephen Ramsay series. The protagonist is sympathetic--a British Inspector who is very human in his uncertainties and sympathies for the victims and for the criminals. He is paired with Hunter, who is in many ways his opposite number; they both are ambivalent about the partnership. The plotting is fair, in that the clues to the solution are scattered through the novel, and the reader does have the information necessary to solve the murder. There is none of the gratuitous graphic violence and gory description so often included in current novels. While not technically a "cozy," A Day in the Death of Dorothea Cassidy certainly belongs in the softer, gentler tradition of the golden age mysteries.

This book is the 3rd of the Inspector Ramsay mysteries by British author Ann Cleeves. It was first published by Century in 1991. (I had to "Go To" the Copyright page, at the very end of the Kindle edition, for some reason, to find this information. Kindle seldom gives the original date of publication in its book descriptions; it gives the date first published by Kindle. If this bothers you as much as it does me, please say so in your review!)
As for the book, it is a detective novel in the classic tradition, and for that I am grateful. And both the situation and the characters are interesting. I shall read another Inspector Ramsay novel.
