This New 'Createspace', paperback copy of 'The Equinox 1 - 3 is of very good quality, and especially because the price! Yet Price or not it is a great book for a great bargain. (I have no Idea when this format [edited] of the book began or is the original? It does in fact include the advertisements of the original in the back)
Very tight spine and great print, zero smudges or copy flaws as you can see how createspace does it.. [...]

Having 'Gems of the Equinox, 'The Holy books of Thelema' For my collection of print books I needed this for a quality print of 'AHA!', 'The Treasure House of Images', Etc.
If one already has the Hardbacks and want to keep them mint these would be perfect research, practice, reading copies.
Always think for yourself. Do not listen to me or anyone use your own thoughts and research.

Adequate for the student, but not a replication of the 1st Edition

As it has been pointed out, there are some typographic inadequacies, but these will stand as a servicable Equinox set for the budget-minded student. Yes, this edition has a few typos not found in the previous print editions. That ruins it for me. Furthermore, none of the illustrations are included. But I *do* understand the appeal of a paperback Equinox edition, and owners report this edition is somewhat satisfactory.There have been relatively few printings of the Equinox until recent years. The original 1st Printing from a century ago, the Weiser 1972 2nd Printing, the 1978 3rd Printing, the 1992 4th Printing, the 1996 2-volume set (all Weiser), the Mandrake & Holmes hardback, and the Mandrake and Holmes paperback. Although unwieldly, the 1996 edition has an additional 36-page compilation addendum of Crowley's notes and corrections taken from hand-written margin notes and copy-editing marks that he made in his, and occasionally in his students' copies. These are of some interest, but not enough, in my opinion, to recommend that edition over any of the 10-volume hardback set. The two most recent by-the-volume on-demand paperback and hardback editions have errors not found in the previously mentioned sets, BUT they are in-print and affordable, if not recommended.

A thought provoking story of the lengths some people will go to for fame and the effects of these choices on themselves and the people around them. It's a juxtaposition of all the nostalgic memories I have about being on a small rural farm as a kid and the things I currently disdain about modern reality television. When these two worlds collide, extreme sacrifices and well laid plans can still make it hard for big dreams to come true. The moral decisions made in the pursuit of fame can have unforeseen consequences and the final outcome is hard to control.

This book is a "page turner" from the beginning. Not only is it a well written, wonderfully descriptive book but a book that holds one's attention while stimulating thoughts about social issues. I found it made me think of my own personal life experiences with people of "color" ... and with other forms of diversity.

I loved the way the Author took me back to my early years, living in a small rural home, with few, if any amenities.

Old Boy, Volume 5 is very typical of the Old Boy manga series. It moves slowly, it's by far the best drawn manga I've read, and it's some of the best penciling I've seen anywhere in the comic world, a visual feast, to use a cliche. Goto is given a clue by a "referee." Go find his sixth-grade teacher. Goto does, and the mystery deepens.

I cannot stress enough how perfect a blend of art and literature the Old Boy series is. While some very good manga I put down after a couple of chapters, I've read each volume of Old Boy from beginning to end without stopping. It's only that I review each book that keeps me from reading Vol. 5 and Vol. 6, both of which came in the mail today, without a break. *****

The Mystery Deepens

The mystery deepens as to the identity of Goto's tormentor, inching the plot forward just a tiny little bit. The slow pace and lack of dialogue are what attract me to the series--along with the amazingly precise illustrations of Tokyo, it's buildings and objects. Add this to the list of top-class manga out there. I'm in for the long haul on this series.

This is a great follow up to the author's original (auto)biography.

Continuing with some inexplicable happenstances, the author shares her "amazing" journey.

Her first book deals with the successful search for her identity. Only after finding the father she never knew, was she able to connect with her "being". She was embraced by his comrades and embraced them in return. Her incredible journey should have ended there, but it didn't. She writes about and embraces (as they do her) the members of that squadron as the deploy to Iraq to take their place amongst the honored.

She writes of the irony that connects the death of her father with the "current" members of the "Purple Foxes". She does so with compassion, respect and love.

I suppose that either of her books could be read alone. However, I would strongly recommend that one purchase and read her first book, "A Corpsman's Legacy", and then read (and enjoy), "A Corpsman's Legacy Continues" You will not be disappointed.

Excellent continuation to her first book. What an amazing story of personal dedication to a father she had come to know and love so long after his death.

Stephanie is a wonderful person and has become a very accomplished writer and fantastic researcher.

A very moving story about a life coming into focus. Many hardships were endured but none so insurmountable that it changed the original course. Very few people could have endured the crescendo of emotions as they unfold in the journey. It also excites me that the author now lives in my home state of Mississippi. I was in the infantry in 1970 and attached to an assault helicopter unit in II corps so I can identify with many of the events in the story.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lori Nelson has traveled the world as a special interests speaker aboard cruise ships. As an occupational varietist, Lori knows a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff. Her hilarious career history includes managing movie theaters, actress (Lori starred as a criminal in an episode of “America's Most Wanted”), casting director, voice-over specialist, bank teller, short order cook, and about 1000 other near misses to a mediocre existence. As a teenager, she especially enjoyed being a ride operator at the world's best amusement park, Kennywood! Lori also hosted her own show on broadcast radio, the eponymous “Lori Nelson Show”, and has taught continuing education courses at universities and school systems for more than twenty years. A pianist since age 7, Lori won several Carnegie-Mellon Music Awards, and earned a piano scholarship to West Virginia University. Later on, Lori ice skated competitively and volunteered as a coach with the Special Olympics. As an anthropomorphic observer of humanity, Lori is an etymologist (that's about words, not bugs), gemologist, anatomist, angelologist, and former optimist. She's happiest immersed in nature moments, amidst flora and fauna, whether horseback riding, at the seashore, on top of a glacier, or watching a butterfly – anywhere. Her passions include classical music, writing, and photography. Lori loves banana splits, yellow roses, and apparently … physical therapy. Torture is her first book.

From pothole to published author, Torture is an amazing and intimate journey... a journey of soul-searching and redemption. A journey possible only by the grace of an angel and one woman's indomitable spirit.

When Lori Nelson steps in a pothole on her street, virtually destroying her foot and shattering her soul, life as she knows it over. Or so she thinks. But, it seems, every time that inner voice says "I can't"... Lori discovers that she can. Souls and bones heal, but it takes time.

It isn't easy. It isn't pretty. It is long, slow torture. Telling herself every day, for days and weeks on end, that she can't, her own mind and body... guided by an angel named Graham... proves the lie to all those negative thoughts and feelings.

Torture is a frank... often brutal, often intimate... and transformative story. An experience that only a person with the keen insight of not just herself, but the human spirit, that Lori has could possibly tell. I had the broken foot....AND the shattered soul....this book hits home

Excellent book for the highly sensitive! I feel like I have just read my autobiography! I went through Achilles tendon rupture and had both knees replaced within the same time period. I still suffer with chronic pain and yet travel all over the world seeking distraction (including a dozen cruises!). I was in physical therapy for my hurting foot when I started reading this book. I told the P.T.'s they all should read it. Little did I know at the time how much more there is to it than the subject of physical therapy!
It's rare that I can identify with so many traits of an author-page after page. This book is deeper than the average reader can imagine. For those of us who do constant soul searching, it's a relief to find out that we are not alone. Thanks to this book, I'm now researching the term "empath:. I have always been treated as if hypersensitivity and excessive compassion was a curse. Now, I count myself as an "angel-in-preparation".

Fabulous! Lori Nelson took a short part of her journey of meeting an Angel and opened her heart and mind to share with others. From her childhood of pain, and abuse from a mother that was unable to give what she didn't have herself, to the day she broke her foot that set her on a path of Enlightenment. She didn't know it then but her life was going to change.

She was given the Light and Love energy from the Universe through an Angel that is a physical therapist. People that have a need for healing whether it be mind or body can receive this gift when you least expect it. Angels come in many shapes and sizes. Her first meeting with her Angel opened her conciseness. There was no turning back. The Universe has great plans for Lori's writing abilities. Her command of words draws you into her story with descriptions of emotions that pain can bring to us. Great read to the very last page. Looking forward to her growth as a writer.

Fast paced thrillers - cant put them down!
