I was forever changed the morning we realized we had hours to escape from Kenya. Our plans ended abruptly after ten months when Kenya was plunged into extreme tribal violence following controversial elections. As I share our adventures, I reveal my struggles with culture shock, loneliness, constant illness, fear and depression. At the same time, I tell the story of God’s faithfulness as He provided us with courage, wisdom, new friendships, humor, healing and personal safety.

Lindsay's writing is pure wit, and matched with a divine love for humanity Lindsay opens the readers imagination to a very powerful spiritual journey. As a young mother of two, and wife of an obviously adventurous man, following them through this book from Canada to Africa serves at a most honest look into genuine faith moved into action. Beyond the telling a personal story, this book will most likely motivate any reader to recall and revive their own passion for serving Christ, wherever in the world He leads you. Thank you Mrs. Howard for such a captivating read!

Bold, honest and humbling

It is wonderful for a missionary to have the opportunity to be so honest. These entries bring life to some things we North Americans can only imagine. My here are laughable moments as well as heart-breaking ones. God is glorified in the authors honest and vulnerable telling of her time in Africa.

Awesome! Lindsay was very raw and real with sharing all of her heart. It is so hard to know exactly what life will be like when the Lord leads you to an unfamilar place, but He never leaves or forsakes us. I will be sharing Letting Go of Lindsay with others that will be doing short term missions.
