About the Author
Theo Aronson is the author of over twenty works of royal historical biography, including Grandmama of Europe, Napoleon and Josephine, and Princess Margaret. In the course of writing and researching these books he has interviewed members of Britain's royal family and members of the royal households.
Born and raised in Southampton, England, Shaun Grindell is an accomplished actor who trained at the Calland School of Speech and Drama and the Lee Strasberg Actors Institute in London. An AudioFile Earphones Award-winning audiobook narrator, Shaun has narrated many titles in different genres.

If this is your area of interest...

then you have bought the right book. I found it to be interesting, well-researched and highly readable. The backgrounds of each woman add a dimension to their relationships with th king that many of these type books do not provide. They are treated as individuals with their own lives that go on even without the king. I also like that, as Edward moves on to Alice Keppel for instance, we are kept up to date on the lives of the two women who preceded her. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did

A first class read

Informative but entertaining this is a wide ranging coverage of the subject without the breathless waffling typical of many royal publications. The author's background knowledge is impressive but doesn't overwhelm his writing as with so many modern histories where writers fear leaving anything out giving us 500 pages when it should have been 250. Aronson does not fall into this trap and interest for the reader is always there.

Edward VII Royal Romeo.

A good read. This is an insight into the life of probably one of the greatest womaniser of all times. Not a particularly attractive man he managed to lure into his web some beautiful women. His wife Queen Alexandra must have been a saint to put up with him, and strangely enough it appears she really did love him. His most notable paramour was Alice Keppel, a true beauty, who apparently, was at his bedside when he died. This book has great entertainment value - Edward the VII was unique, he had it all, wealth, an understanding wife, and a bevy of women only too willing to take on the role of mistress. Had he not been royal I doubt if he would have been given a second glance, but he certainly took advantage of his status - he led a life of decadence and over indulgence - his mother, Queen Victoria never liked him, in fact she and her consort, Prince Albert, despaired of him. He did some good, however, when he eventually became King. Highly recommended, very entertaining.
