you get what you pay for

Not bad for $2.99. Not all that great either. I know know what bus tickets cost. How do you buy them? On the bus? The buses don't run at night. When do the stop running? I can see some sights on Google map in Reykjavik that I would like to know more about, but they never got mentioned.

Old school, but insightful.

A very insiders guide to the the city. Not the most up-to-date book, but it really isn't meant to be a replacement for Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, etc. Not a hipster guide, old -school in design and execution. For the most part, it has each restaurant, hotel, etc. listed with a paragraph of text - which is where the local insight comes in. It probably will work best if used in conjunction with a more main stream guide for the island.

The majority of this book that you get out of the book is only the history of the illuminati; which is still minimal.

In the later ends of the book, Brush attempts to give some claims which has no merit, because they aren't backed up with any evidence.

It is an interesting story, but unreliable work.
The author did not take the effort to do a diligent search: The founder's name is misspelled every time: the founder was not Adam Weishaput and not even Wishaput, but rather Adam WEISHAUPT.
Also frequently repeating details in order to make it to a sellable 27 pages.....

Breeders of purebred dogs for show were a challenge and inspirational for me to research and help them with their unique health problems. Historically references to hereditary problems are scattered throughout various Veterinary medical texts and journals such as ophthalmology, neurology, gastroenterology, cardiovascular and dermatology. This book, as well as the other books and articles I have written, is researched and compiled with the intention to provide both veterinarians and dog owners with comprehensive and authoritative predisposition information under the breed name. At the date of this publication, The American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation and the The Kennel Club of England reports over 400 known hereditary health syndromes throughout the dog kingdom. At the writing of my first book in 1983, less than 50 hereditary issues are able to be predicted and or diagnosed. Sequencing of the canine genome, DNA tests, metabolic testing including blood tests and urine testing; plus, phenotypic examinations such as radiographs, ultrasound, and CERF or OFA eye registry exams by a Board Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist have advanced the science of breed related health and behavioral problems. This book will provide veterinarians, researchers, pet owners and breeders with a comprehensive guide to all the known problems veterinarians and dog owners should consider during pet selection and throughout each life stage of our canine friends.

A great review into the possible genetic predispositions of the Australian Cattle Dog.

This is a great review into the possible genetic predispositions of the Australian Cattle Dog. I would recommend this to any High School level student doing an informative speech on the breed, any High School student doing a paper on Australian Cattle Dogs. This is written very well by Dr.Clark in a way that is educational because it is understandable. I would even recommend it as beginning research for a college level paper on the breed, and there common genetic conditions. All breeds have there own health risks due to genetics, this short publication is very detailed in explaining the risks in the Australian Cattle Dog.

This book contains very brief, sometimes only a sentence long, descriptions of issues associated with this breed. Occasionally the author will list OFA rankings. OFA rankings are free on their website. The book also lists genetic tests for the breed and CHIC requirements. Again, this information is available free online. One thing that really bothered me is that the author incorrectly links the deafness in ACDs to the merle gene. ACDs do not have the merle gene. I would expect better from an “expert.” This resource is a waste of money.

About the Author
Ray was born in Clear Lake SD. In September 1956. He grew up in South Dakota graduating from high school in 1974 from Brandon Valley high school where he became interested in writing through a Creative Writing Class. After moving to Florida in the 1990's Ray suffered a massive stroke in October of 2005 where he nearly died and that left him paralyzed on the left side of his body. After months of rehabilitation and being forced to retire Ray began writing The Road To Roma as a hobby and to honor his father, Art Stoner and the generation who came before him who went through the depression and went on to fight World War II. Ray spent five years writing this novel on his home computer typing with his right hand only and sizeable brain damage. Although his short-term memory is pretty much gone, his long-term memory survived the stroke and allowed him to recall the stories his father told him and enabled him to write The Road To Roma. Ray would write a thousand words a day with his faithful French Poodle Timmy lying at his feet every day for five years. The writing helped Ray regain some of his mental capacity to a point where he even learned to golf again. The dedication on the first pages of this novel speaks for itself on who all helped Ray with this project. Ray also served five years in the U.S, Army including three in the First Infantry Division.

I enjoyed tbis book and the experiences of each character. it captures the feelings of the depression and WWII in a very personal way. The stories passed down from father to son are of utmost clarity and sincerity, and reflect a love and respect in so many ways.

The Fourth Wife of Aliyar Bey is an personal account of the life of a glamorous expat woman, the daughter of a high-ranking Cossack in the Czar's army who grew up in Russian emigré Paris. She meets her second husband-to-be, drives with him from France to Iran, getting caught up in the chic city social and fashion life prior to the revolution. Her husband Aliyar Bey has fought and been wounded in the French Foreign Legion, and is also close enough to the late Shah Reza Pahlavi to play a shadowy role in his regime which is never clarified. Lives woven through with high-living, lies and deception. It is an intertwined narrative of three women who are drawn into the writing of the book in their own ways. Try this book - it's a curious visit of the previous generation who were caught up in history and played their individual strange roles. Iran has its own shadowed history during the World Wars, and this book sketches (lest we forget) how the British were non grata and the Americans welcomed during the earlier oil years.

Excellent guide for those who want to try camping out with friends and family.

I stumbled upon this book whilst browsing here in Amazon and I am so glad for that. My husband and I have never been the outdoorsy type and after being together for 5 years, we’ve talked about doing something new, an activity which we can enjoy together and also with our little son. I believe that camping could be an activity that we can try, nothing too risky or too dangerous, but still new and exciting to us. I appreciate Luke Preston’s know-how when it comes to staying outdoors: what to prepare, what to do in emergencies and most especially the recipes! They look easy to prepare yet delicious. I will definitely try them out during our first family camping trip! Overall, I’d say, two thumbs up for this handy camping guide!!

Camping Tips For Beginners

This book comes in handy because I am planning to go on a camping trip next week. My last camping adventure was years ago when I was still a child. Therefore learning a thing or two about camping may prove to be very useful.

The book starts with a list of items you should have with you when camping. For beginners the list is quite useful because it contains the basic things you may need in some circumstances (bad weather, injury and so on).

The next chapter is about basic camping skills: how to make drinkable water, build a fire and set up a makeshift tent.

Because the hard part is over (survival is assured) the author moves to the fun activities – camping should be fun. You can do all sorts of funny things when camping: go hiking, play games, reconnect with nature.

The last chapter is about camping foods. The reader will learn how to prepare delicious recipes while camping.
In conclusion: a useful book for people who want to go camping for the first time. The book is easy to read and contains all the essentials. The only thing I didn’t like is the lack of images. Some images of making a makeshift tent for example would have been very useful.

It covers everything you need: from the way to choose the right terrain for tents to games and activities to safety measures to recipes. The guide is very nature-oriented (like camping should be!) and gives good ideas for ways to engage kids. It sounds like the author has camped with kids. Great guide.

Ieyasu comes to the greatest difficulty of his life

"Path of the Assassin, Volume 6: Life's Greatest Difficulty" consists mostly of the single epic story that gives the volume its title. Things are going well for Ieyasu, who it should be remembered is only 22-years-old at this point in his journey towards becoming Shogun and only now beginning to mull over taking the name Tokugawa. Meanwhile, Hatori Hanzo and Tsukumo have been away from their master, battling the ninja Kite Kato. Then Ieyasu comes to the event that he would speak of later as being the greatst difficulty of his life. Ieyasu had a fort built in Sasaki by Yahgi River, and now that it is completed he sets out to get some rice to stockpile at the fort, unaware that this simple act will stir up insurrections all over Mikawa, threatening not only his power but also his very life.

This classic samurai series from writer Kazuo Koike and artist Goecki Kojima, originally published in Japan under the title "Hanzo no Mon," is being published in 15 volumes by Dark Horse. Because of its focus on Ieyasu and Hanzo, this magna is more historical in nature than either "Lone Wolf & Cub" or "Samurai Executioner." At this point we are in the early 1560s, as Ieyasu battles the military forces of the Mikawa Monto, a group of warrior monks, who refused to obey his orders. Again the relationship between master and servant is defined as the difference between strategy and tactics: as the insurrections begin, Ieyasu sees the big picture, and knows it is up to Hanzo to do something to make the clogged river flow again (Remember, the magna is described as being about "Lifelong friends, with the same dreams, striving to grow into a rising river"). But this time, when the stakes are the highest they have been so far, Hanzo finds his efforts backfiring. In addition to the main plotline, Iyesau's wife sends her husband a strange message and Hanzo meets up again with Toma Eno, another suppa, who makes a strange request. Both of these sequences remind us that this story is far from over, although since Iyesau was 60 when he was named Shogun by the Emperor, I have to assume this magna will end decades short of that pivotal moment in Japanese history.

The second story here, "Changing Countenance," either constitutes an epilogue to this "Chapter on Shogyo Mujo," or is an interlude before the next story. It is not until Path of the Assassin Volume 7, Center of the World comes out in a couple of months that we will learn if the chapter continues or if Koike and Kojima are beginning the next one. A young girl wants to plead upon her death for Ieyasu to come and visit her dying father, a nameless, small "ashigaru" (foot solider of medieval Japan), who has a lesson to teach his master regarding the truth that can be read in the faces of men. The title comes from a series of masks the dying man has carved, to illustrate his point. Whether this presages specific events to come or is just a philosophical point raised in general, remains to be seen.

This pocket-sized magna format is oriented in the right-to-left reading format used by the creators, and you should have no problem with this approach by the time you are this far into the series. However, I wish I knew more about how these stories were originally published in Japan. A 282 page story in an American comic is going to run pretty much for a year divided into issues containing the same number of pages, unless it is published as a graphic novel. But "Life's Greatest Difficulty" is presented as just one giant story, even though there are clearly "episodes" within the framework of the larger narrative. When a particular "chapter" is broken into two parts in these Dark Horse volumes, ending one volume and beginning the next, I have assumed that these were artificial breaks, but I really do not know. Dark Horse could just be following what Koike and Kojima did for all I know. I am not complaining, because without the strictures of usual comic books, each of these stories is as long as Koike and Kojima need them to be, a fact amply demonstrated by the two stories in this particular volume.

Forget what you think about Japanese manga, and put aside comparisons to Koike's more famous work, "Lone Wolf and Cub" (written before this series) Path of the Assassin is a rare balance of action and insight into Japanese history, politics and samurai culture typical for Koike, but unique to "action" manga. Dont' get me wrong, nothing dazzles like a good super ninja story, and Koike keeps it rolling, but this ninja tale precedes a lot of later ninja tales (this one written in the 1970's) and has no direct successors except Koike himself. Later action manga might be splashier and depend on stereotypes and over top violence, but early Koike and Kojima cannot be beat for believable, human stories that are profound intellectually and emotionally, and always visually compelling. It is amazing to me that this complex story of medieval Japan is made comprehensible to Western readers simply by its great characterization. I know I don't truly understand Japanese culture, but Koike makes me think I do. Highly recommended.

Easy reading but not boring

This little book cleared up a lot of my questions about the “end times”. The research is credible with none of usual hype; everything can be verified with Google searches of star and planet charts. Easy reading but not boring; looking forward to his second book.

Thought provoking

I study many end times related themes and while searching for more research information on amazon books I came across this book by an author I had no prior knowledge of. He presents his material well and presented some new material and interpretations I have not come across before. I think he may be right on on dome things and a few other points who can say for certain until things work themselves out according to God's own timetable. I'm hoping we don't have that much time left in the world as I for one am ready to go! It is very worthwhile reading and I highly recommend it to others and plan to share with my family and encourage them to read as well. I have always wondered what the sign of the son of man referred to. Could it be referring to this particular formation referred to in the book of revelation described so well in this book?
